DPA Workstation™ side channel analysis platform to be distributed in
key markets
SAN FRANCISCO & TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Cryptography Research (CRI), a division of Rambus
(NASDAQ:RMBS), and Keirex Technology Inc. (Keirex) today announced they
have signed a reseller agreement for CRI's
DPA Workstation™ side channel analysis platform. This agreement allows
Keirex to distribute the DPA Workstation platform in Japan, South Korea
and Taiwan, and provide localization features to customers in these
countries.
The DPA
Workstation platform provides the world's most powerful and flexible
side channel analysis solution. Leading security chip vendors, product
companies, testing labs, and government organizations rely on the DPA
Workstation to evaluate and certify their secure semiconductors. The DPA
Workstation platform includes all the hardware, software and training
necessary to perform a wide range of power analysis and security tests.
DPA is a form of attack that involves monitoring the fluctuating
electrical power consumption of a target device and then using
statistical methods to derive cryptographic keys and other secrets.
Strong countermeasures
to DPA are important for securing mobile devices, bank cards, pay
television systems, secure identity products, secure storage media, and
other electronic systems and components. Many of the world's leading
security standards require that devices be protected against DPA and
related attacks.
"Differential Power Analysis (DPA) countermeasures are an important
security requirement for a growing number of industries and are
increasingly being mandated across the globe, including Japan and other
leading Asian countries," said Nobuo Fudanuki, Executive Director at
Keirex. "This agreement will allow Keirex to provide CRI's DPA
Workstation platform to government testing labs and Asia-based companies
in response to emerging security requirements, and we are honored to be
a part of CRI's DPA Workstation team to enhance its value. This will
provide customers with the most sophisticated testing platform on the
market."
"We are seeing increased worldwide demand for our DPA Workstation side
channel analysis platform. Our goal is to help strengthen device
security for both private industry and government agencies," said Pankaj
Rohatgi, Technical Director at Cryptography Research. "We are pleased to
partner with Keirex to distribute the DPA Workstation platform in Japan,
South Korea and Taiwan."
CRI has developed a portfolio of over 55 patents covering
countermeasures to DPA attacks, with additional patent applications
pending. For additional information on CRI or on the CRI DPA Workstation
