Dr. Kennedy has served on Rambus' board since April 2003, and he is currently serving a 1 year term as chairman commensurate with Rambus' new policy to elect the chairman after each annual stockholders meeting. He is currently Chief Executive Officer and director at JDS Uniphase Corporation, a communications equipment corporation. From August 2001 to September 2003, Dr. Kennedy was the Chief Operating Officer of Openwave Systems, Inc., a software corporation. Prior to joining Openwave Systems Inc., Dr. Kennedy served seven years at Cisco Systems, Inc., a networking corporation, most recently as Senior Vice President of the Service Provider Line of Business and Software Technologies Division, and 17 years at Bell Laboratories. Dr. Kennedy is also a director of JDSU Corp. and Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.
